We are more than a 'flying school'. A Big statement but one of fact.

Firstly, we are not for profit, proceeds from our operations fund further activity with our partners The Mark Long Trust and Aerobility.

Secondly, whilst we do specialise in teaching student pilots to qualify, both NPPL and PPL, we also offer 'high end' experiences in our fleet of aircraft but especially our heritage Chipmunk WK558.

Finally, we want to rewrite the book of unwritten rules about flying and standards, offering everyone that becomes part of the Bomber County Flying School (BCFS) experience a chance to be part of something very special. Capturing the heritage (we are flying out of a once operational RAF base), providing opportunity for those that don't expect or even have hopes of flying, and bringing joy to the skies above us, BCFS is rightly, and proudly, different.

Introductory flights

Take your first step into the world of aviation with our exciting introductory flight experiences.

Flying in one of our excellent aircraft, most probably our Cessna 172 or PA28, feel the thrill of taking off, cruising over the countryside of Bomber County and landing back at our once operatyional WW2 airfield, Wickenby.

Stunning Chipmunk flight experiences

Relive history with our unique Chipmunk experiences, flying from a historic bomber base.

Our Chipmunk WK558 offers a unique experience to fly in this amazing aircraft, over some of the sights and military history that shaped modern Britain. We offer three flight experiences, each offering their own thrills and history.

PPL and NPPL ground school

Prepare for your Private Pilot Licence with our comprehensive CAA PPL /NPPL ground school.

Dismissing traditional aviation teaching methods (go and read that book, it's all in there) and adopting pragmatic, hands on, in the moment teaching, through a specially designed curriculum, we will teach you beyond the CAA exam syllabus.

Despite any challenges you may have had previously with learning, we will get you to the required standard.

NPPL & PPL training

Building your skills as a pilot gives you one of the most affirming and magnificent development opportunities available.

From the first lesson - straight and level flight - through to navigating as you fly, then solo, leading to your skills test, we will guide you, develop you and encourage you to become the best person you can be.

Achieving your flying licence is more than that - it is a very definate step to becoming the best person you can be.

Where needed we specialise in training the neurodivergent student pilots, with specially trained instructors that understand you, and act accordingly.

Being neurodivergent is not a barrier to flying. And it is something to share with your friends and family.

This partnership is central to our mission, celebrating Mark Long's illustrious RAF career and supporting neurodiversity in aviation.
