Our approach to neurodivergence

At Bomber County Flying School, we believe in the potential of every aspiring pilot. We are dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive environment, especially for our neurodivergent students, ensuring that your journey to the skies is as rewarding and successful as possible.

Flying with neurodiversity

It's amazing how the skills and competencies needed to fly are inextricably linked to those we often see in our friends and colleagues with ADHD and/or autism. However, the mention of neurodivergence can sometimes deter both aspiring pilots and flying schools. At Bomber County Flying School, we have built on Dr Phil Anderton's extensive experience and knowledge of both ADHD and autism to create a unique flying school experience for neurodivergent pilots.

Tailored learning, proven success

We have reimagined the traditional training manual to ensure that we teach neurodivergent pilots in a way that aligns with their learning styles. For instance, individuals with ADHD don't have a learning difficulty; they often have difficulties learning through traditional means. So, we've changed the way we teach, both on the ground and in the air. This approach has led to incredible successes, with role model pilots paving the way for others.

Your journey, our commitment

Our own Flying School Manager, Archie, who is ADHD and autistic, passed his flying qualifications first time with the minimum hours input. We have many other similar stories of success. When you come for a flying lesson or course with us, you can expect passion, enthusiasm, a different way of learning, hands-on experience, fun, and a boost to your self-esteem, not a knock.

"The support and understanding at Bomber County Flying School were unparalleled. They truly changed the way I learned to fly, making it an incredibly positive and successful experience."
